Silt & Story
Concept project

A scent story with something to keep.

Self-initiated concept project. READY CREATION created Silt & Story, a fictional home-fragrance brand, to explore the relationship between premium art direction and practical ecommerce.

The self-initiated brief

A brand built around the vessel, then the ritual.

READY CREATION set its own brief: a small fragrance range with ceramic vessels to keep and separate wax refills. Products, prices and specifications are illustrative; no external client commissioned the concept.

Tactile, warm and deliberately quiet.

A compact serif identity, chalk ground and umber ink let the ceramics carry the personality. Salt Paper, Ember Moss and Quiet Fig share natural light and a quiet material palette.

The product edit

Three scents. One material language.

Design challenge

Explore how a premium fragrance store can communicate scent and material online, while making vessel and refill choices unambiguous.

The format is a purchase decision

Vessel and refill share one product view, with a distinct price for each. The basket preserves the chosen format.

Interactive prototype

From scent to format.

Browse by scent family, choose a vessel or refill, then change quantities in the local basket. The selected format stays visible with its price; no checkout or order is created.

The first edition

Choose your atmosphere

Keep the vessel. Change the atmosphere.

The concept pairs a reusable ceramic vessel with a separate wax refill. Object, scent and replenishment share one product story, with the format always clear before adding to the basket.

Start with a scent. The vessel and refill are separate choices.

Subtotal€0

Interactive basket only. No payment or order is created.

Implemented & scoped

A functional commerce frontend.

Filtering, format selection and quantity-dependent subtotals use local React state. Images use next/image; responsive layouts, labelled controls, keyboard focus and reduced motion are implemented.

No catalogue backend, inventory, accounts, payment or order creation is connected. Those are separate production integrations.

What it demonstrates

Art direction and purchase logic in one coherent concept.

Silt & Story demonstrates brand thinking, tactile product storytelling and responsive commerce interaction. It is a self-initiated exploration, without a manufactured range or commercial performance claims.
